Chantal is a Winnipeg based artist who received her BFA from the University of Manitoba. She has also studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and attended the Yale Summer School of Art program in Norfolk, Connecticut. Using a variety of materials, ranging from painting to mixed media sculptures, her work explores both the brutal and yet fantastical world we live in. A major part of her art making process is familiarizing herself with the things that terrify her in order to transform them into wonder and intrigue. In the past she has explored such subjects as pathology, reproduction and entomology. Her recent work has focused on exploring the world of death, decay and cyclical renewal.
